JP 3320 Trigger Trombone

Well stated "well suited to intermediate players" is how it is offered. I played Bach 42s for most of my career now. When I found this trombone and played it I very quickly turned to it as my go to Pro trombone. In comparison with Bach trombones it is much more free blowing, the trigger is quicker, and the price is very good for the quality of this instrument. Well it would be a good trombone for an intermediate player, it would be one of the best trombone they could get on the market for the price. I play this trombone in orchestras, brass bands, concert bands, and brass ensembles and it always meets every challenge and need I have in any given piece of of music.

Great Instrument-its made to last

I got my instrument about 8 months ago and it has been amazing. It has a great tone and allows me to have a greater range especially with the lower pitches. So far I have no dents and no major scratches due to its high-grade brass. The case is still in good condition and the straps make it much easier to travel with.

I have to be honest again here and say that I was somewhat sceptical about the JP332O RATH when it arrived. I knew nothing about the instrument, the cost, the target market and knowing it was manufactured in China I had the usual misconceptions. However, having lived with it for three weeks I can say (and before you say it, I'm not getting a years supply of tuning slide grease for this review!) that I have been completely bowled over by this instrument. We have here an instrument which compares very favourably to today's Conns and Bachs for a mere fraction of the price. I would have no hesitation using this instrument in any solo engagement, ensemble recital or recording. The collaboration between Mick Rath and John Packer has raised professional trombone manufacture to a new level... at an extremely affordable price. What's not to like?

It was very clear from first blowing the JP3320RATH trombone that it had a very clear, vibrant and open sound. An exciting colour of sounds throughout the register and a real and rare treat being so open in the trigger register.

I trialled this trombone in the orchestra in various concerts and recordings from Shostakovich to Brahms and the projection was very easily achievable due to the responsiveness of the instrument. I also played the trombone in the brass band and it was here I realised the versatility of the instrument throughout all registers and dynamics.

The most important value is that the JP3320RATH is not out of place amongst other model trombones within the section, being very easy to blend with.

A very fine model of trombone, perfect for players in whatever field of ensemble. An extremely true and fine blowing trombone suitable for all.
